Making Specialized Oral Pathology Available to Everyone
Dr. Patel’s breadth of training and experience shaped his approach to diagnosis and management of disease today.
He spent several years in academia, then transitioned into private practice and established the Center for Oral Pathology, where he focuses on diagnosing and managing patients with a wide variety of oral diseases.
Dr. Patel earned his dental degree from Howard University College of Dentistry in 2011 and practiced in the Lubbock area with a community health center for a few years, serving as staff dentist on their mobile dental unit.
In 2014, he began his residency in oral and maxillofacial pathology at TAMU (Baylor) College of Dentistry. At the college of dentistry, he was a full-time faculty member where he was also an active surgical pathologist in a busy biopsy service. He also maintained a clinical practice seeing patients who suffered from various oral diseases in the college’s stomatology center.
In addition to developing and founding the Center for Oral Pathology, he has recently helped establish the division of oral and maxillofacial pathology at ProPath, where he currently serves as director today.
Besides leading the Center for Oral Pathology, he is Associate Editor for the Texas Dental Journal.
“I grew up in a humanitarian-driven healthcare environment and patients are my highest priority, which makes our work at the Center for Oral Pathology so meaningful and exciting or me.”
